PARAFFIN-OZOKERITE THERAPY

A local thermal procedure used in cases of chronic joint and muscle diseases, sometimes also for post-traumatic recovery or simply for the muscle relaxation, for example before a massage or therapeutic exercises.

EFFECT:
The procedure has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. Warmth reduces muscle tensions, dilates blood vessels in the skin and subcutaneous tissue, improves reflectively blood circulation deeper in the muscles and joints and reduces pain. A combination of ozokerite (natural mineral wax) and paraffin is used for applications at the temperature of 39-42ºC. The adding of ozokerite to the paraffin keeps the mixture warm for a longer timer and the essential oils in ozokerite have a therapeutic effect. The duration of the procedure is 15 – 20 minutes.
